Case Studies
This section is intended to provide descriptive information about tobacco dependence treatment strategies that have been tried and tested in a wide variety of contexts world-wide. Some are still experimental, some are directed at specific populations, and some are established services available to the general population. The case studies are selected for their potential value to national-level programme planners.
If you have an example of treatment in action that could be of interest to others, please contact us. We would like to share examples of many different evidence-based approaches, such as:
General population services
Clinics and 1-1 counselling
Telephone helplines
Internet and SMS services
Mass media campaigns
Special population services
Pregnant women
Minority ethnic or cultural groups
Prisoners
Military personnel
Disease-specific patient groups
Whether your treatment programme is an established service or still in a pilot phase, please tell us about what you are doing and how the work is evaluated. Case studies will be added to this page regularly so please revisit soon.
